Team Details

Originally from the Northeast and most recently arriving from the Pacific Northwest, Dawn brings over 15 years of horticulture experience to Carolina Native Nursery. Her background spans retail and wholesale nurseries as well as landscaping, giving her a well-rounded perspective on plant production and customer care. She has a deep appreciation for native plants and their role in supporting healthy, resilient ecosystems, and takes pride in maintaining high standards across every aspect of the nursery. As part of the retail garden center team, Dawn specializes in quality control and process improvement. With a keen eye for detail and a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach, she helps keep the nursery looking its best and running smoothly for both plants and customers alike. She lives in Bakersville with her husband, Russ, along with their two Weimaraners and three cats. Outside of the nursery, she teaches Aerial Fitness and enjoys staying active in the community.
