Sarah Allen
Sarah Allen was born and raised in Oklahoma. She’s worked for 10 years in the plant industry and specializes in native ecology and the medicinal properties of the plants. She fell in love with natives after learning about how they provide for life from the soil to the stem, and that love took her down a road of discovery to last a lifetime. She studied Environmental conservation at Rogers State University, studied permaculture and trained in Regenerative agriculture with the Savory Institute, apprenticed under an herbal teacher and goat farmer, interned in the Philbrook Museum of Art’s Horticulture program, and ran her own small scale native landscaping company in Tulsa. In her free time, she volunteers as a teacher and coordinator for Wildherness, a non profit whose mission is to create opportunities for women in the outdoors. Outside of work, she loves to ride horses, chase waterfalls, shoot her recurve, forage, and make natural remedies. Sarah believes natives play a vital role in the healing of our local and global community, and is excited to be a part of the Carolina Native Nursery’s mission.
